♦ Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
♦ Put butter into a 9x13 casserole dish and place in a warm oven.
♦ Toss the sliced peaches with 1/4 cup sugar.
♦ Place remaining 1/2 cup sugar, flour, milk, eggs and baking powder
into a bowl and mix well.
♦ When the butter has melted to a sizzling point after 3-5 minutes, remove the hot dish from the oven.
♦ Immediately pour batter into the dish and spoon sugared fruit on top.
♦ Bake 50 minutes.
♦ Serve warm with extra peach slices and a dusting of powdered sugar or whipped cream.
