a delicate apple filling wrapped in the last leaves of fall!
  • CourseBrunches & Bread, Dessert
Ingredients
  • 1 large Granny Smith apple
  • 1 can crescent roll dough, 8 rolls
  • 2 Tblsp. butter
  • 1 Tblsp. sugar
  • 1 Tblsp. brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. flour
Instructions
  1. ♦ Peel, core and finely dice apple.
♦ In a small not stick skillet: melt butter, add apple bits and stir to coat.
♦ Add sugars and cinnamon. Continue to stir and sauté’ until apple begins to soften.
♦ Sprinkle with flour and stir a minute more, until juices thicken.
    ♦ Remove from heat.
  2. ♦ Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  3. ♦ Grease 8 cups in a muffin tin.
  4. ♦ Open and unroll crescent roll dough, separating one roll at a time.
♦ Cover each roll evenly with a generous Tablespoon of apple filling.
♦ Start at a tiny point and roll long ways, evenly along the longest straight edge.
♦ You’ll end up with a cinnamon roll that looks a little like a Calla Lily!
  5. ♦ Place each roll, flat end down into the tin, the pointed collar will fall over the edge of the cup.
  6. ♦ Bake at 375 degrees for 14-15 minutes, about 2 minutes longer than package directions, until the rolls are golden brown.
  7. ♦ Drizzle with a simple powdered sugar glaze and serve warm.
♦ Glaze: about ¼ cup powdered sugar and 2-3 tsp. water, stir until smooth.
