Help for the Homeless
"Help for the Homeless" hygiene drive: February 22 - March 15, 2015
More than $1,336,000 worth of supplies stocked since 2008 - thank you!
"Growing up in extreme poverty, I was picked on by my peers for the way I smelled, and my ratty hair. When my 5th grade teacher gave me a bag containing shampoo, conditioner and a stick of deodorant, I had to ask what the deodorant was for - I'd never seen any before. The pride and joy (yes, joy) I felt after that, at being able to raise my arms without smelling odor, was a tremendous boost to my confidence! (I still love keeping a variety of deodorants to choose from on top of my dresser!)" Elizabeth S., Grad Student Intern at Manitowoc Domestic Violence Cntr. More stories and thank you notes
The Family’s ‘Help for the Homeless’ hygiene drive works with area homeless coalitions to stock the shelves of 80+ homeless and crisis programs in 14 Wisconsin communities in our listening areas. The goal of Help for the Homeless is to supply a year’s worth of product to each agency (In many cases, this is happening!). Donations remain in the communities where they are collected.
